We enjoyed our bottomless brunch at this restaurant, despite being seated close to other diners. The service was great, with delicious cocktails and fantastic chicken gyros. We will definitely return for more! Overall rating: Food 5, Service 5, Atmosphere 4. Price per person: £30-40. Meal type: Brunch.
Today we visited the Olive restaurant in Corby and I must say, it may just be my new favorite restaurant. I made a booking through their website and was provided with a recommended departure time. Upon arrival, I gave my name and was given several seating options. I chose a table by the window. We started with a bottle of Ombrellino Pinot Grigio Rose from Italy, which was a refreshing wine with notes of cherry and forest fruit. It paired well with our meals. For my starter, I had the Moules Mariniere, a classic French dish of mussels in a white wine, garlic, and parsley sauce served with ciabatta. It was delicious, though I wish they had provided a bowl for the discarded shells. My partner had the Tapas Trio, which included honey chorizo, patatas bravas, and a spinach feta parcel with tzatziki. He enjoyed it, especially the fresh and well-seasoned tzatziki. For my main course, I chose the Surf and Surf, a dish of cod fillet topped with Moroccan spiced prawns, served with new potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables. It had a bit more spice than expected, but I still found it delicious. My partner had the Chicken Parmesan Pasta, which he thought was a great combination of flavors with well-seasoned chicken and balanced pasta. We were so impressed with the food and atmosphere that we decided to have dessert. We opted for the Orange and Amaretti Trifle, a layered dessert with biscotti, orange jelly, custard, and Chantilly cream. It was delicious and light, though we wished it was a bit bigger. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner experience at Olive and felt transported to Greece for a while. Service: Dine-in Meal Type: Dinner Price per person: £40-50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
I hate to say it but it was a huge disappointment, perhaps because we were late, but the two Caesar salads had nothing to do with the Caesar salad. There was some lettuce, a few croutons, two tiny pieces of bacon or whatever it was, and chicken with a sauce that looked like someone poured it over a can of crushed tomatoes with no seasoning. Apparently the grilled chicken looked undercooked. They served the same cocktails twice and although they were supposed to be the same, they tasted different. Unfortunately, the second time it tasted like water. It was a great disappointment for us, after which we felt sad and disappointed. It was a sad dinner that was meant to be remembered as something pleasant due to the company's 5-year anniversary. Friendly welcoming staff. We ate here on a Saturday lunch time. Food was very good with several vegetarian options for us. I'm sure the atmosphere would be great for an evening when it's probably busier. We'll be back Vegetarian options: We had the tagliatelle and mushroom filo pie dishes.
