Bidrage med feedbackOur first meal from Jamila's, we ordered lamb biryani, palak paneer, and prawn vindaloo. I could tell even as I was unpacking it that this food was prepared with love. The biryani was so pretty, each individual grain of rice coloured a different hue of orange/yellow/white, truly beautiful! And that's just how it looked--it was the best biryani we've ever eaten. I found half an apricot in mine, a sweet surprise that actually brought me to tears, it was so lovely. I don't know if food has ever done that to me before! The vindaloo was aromatic and tangy, prawns cooked perfectly, and the palak paneer was dense with spinach, so flavourful. We agreed that it felt like somebody's mom or auntie or grandma was cooking this meal. A truly celebratory experience!! Highly recommended!! We can't wait to explore the rest of the varied menu.
I might try this restaurant again but for their Indian food. We learned our lesson. We ordered Greek dinner Prawn and chicken souvlaki and calamari. The calamari was overcooked. They souvlaki dinners come with an incredibly generous portion of rice. If you love black pepper you will love this rice. Because that's all you can taste. It was way too much.
This is a review for a SkipTheDishes order. I ordered the shahi paneer, rice pilau and garlic naan. The shahi paneer tasted very different compared to all the other places I've ordered it from, it was not very creamy and tasted almost as if it was watered down. The rice tasted very bland considering it was the pilau style. The naan was kind of stale and also a little flavourless. I'm not sure if I'll order from here again however I am very happy to know that they offer free food to those without money. That is a very selfless and admirable thing to do and I am very proud of you folks for doing that.
I was hosting an informal dinner party and under my 2 week quarantine was very dependent on delivery. I really wanted something with a ton of flavor, and that's what Jamila's serves up. I did the meat lovers combo (souvlaki and other tasty meats on sticks) and added in a couple more salads and tzatziki. Everything was bomb. I especially loved the roasted potatoes, garlic sauce and the tzatziki. Awesome food and value!
First time ordering from here. Hubby had the roast lamb, which was tasty but way too salty. My main was the butter chicken, which again was tasty but the sauce was really, really thin. Unlikely to order from here again, unfortunately.
