Hanamori Sushi Restaurant - Coquitlam

Fantastic sushi! Very small sitting area, good for small groups. Friendly staff. Great service. You must try the torch salmon. So delicious and really pretty. I was disappointed with the chicken Karaage. It was soggy and lacked flavour. I hope they improve it because everything else was great.

So I live in a area full of sushi establishments. I decided I would set out and find the best one. Hands down Hanamori is the best. It's your typical hole in the wall treasure! My first visit I tried practically the entire board of must try and refuse to go anywhere else.

Best sushi I've ever had. No matter what you order you can't go wrong.

I discovered a lovely sushi restaurant near my hotel. The service and food were excellent. It may be a bit hidden away, but definitely worth seeking out.

We arrived at the restaurant around 6:30pm on a Saturday and found it empty, although there were several orders lined up for pick-up, which we took as a good sign. However, we soon realized that things were different when we looked at the menu. They had shortened their menu and some of the items we were hoping to order, like the tea rice and clam udon, were no longer available. In fact, there were no entree options at all, only sushi bar items on the menu. The chopped scallop roll was fresh and had a good balance of scallop and rice, allowing the flavor of the scallops to shine through. My friend Grayson raved about the chicken teriyaki roll, saying it was the best he had ever tasted because the chicken was fried to a crispy golden brown and still hot on the inside. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try it myself as Grayson enjoyed it so much that he ended up eating all the pieces himself.
