Bidrage med feedbackWe booked here for dinner before going to the theatre, and it was like going back in time, but in a really, really good way. The restaurant is essentially the front room of a house, pretty unimposing at first sight, but homely once you are in. The menu is laminated, but it contains all of the classic Italian dishes, some of which seem to have inexplicably gone out of fashion. The service is extremely friendly and warm, not cold and disinterested like so many trendier places. We had delicious bruschetta to start not fancy, not messed about with, just high quality tomatoes, olive oil, touch of garlic, delicious bread. Then great cannelloni, which you hardly ever see these days, and garlic prawn linguine. Shared sticky toffee pudding, a gin and blood orange tonic, 2 beers and a perfectly acceptable bottle of Nero d’Avola, and all that for under £80. This is not a fancy restaurant, but my guess is that it’s a family owned place, with people that care about what they do, and a chef that just wants guests to enjoy home cooked italian food. Highly recommended.
The food was delicious. I have had carbonara all over the world and this was as good as the best I've had in Italy. My husband had a fish food pasta, he said from the first mouthful there was wonderful fishy taste, he loved it, even though he is a steak guy. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. When I asked which way something was prepared, as I liked one and not the other, I was asked which I would prefer. That has never happened to me before! We did discuss food quantity and decided it was average for an Italian restaurant. As a lady it was too much for me and I saw someone leaving with a doggy bag. My husband felt it was just OK but exactly what we get elsewhere. It is not a heaped plateful but what Italian does that. The other consideration is the environment, it is like being in someone's house for dinner. It is not a modern plush restaurant. The excellent food and service made us feel we would return no matter the surroundings. There was background music that was not over powering, so you could have conversations with ease. Highly recommended if you like great real Italian food served with a willing smile.
We had a wonderful dining experience at this cozy and well-known restaurant. The menu offers a great selection of dishes. Our meals were cooked to perfection and artfully presented. The service from our waitress was top-notch - she was efficient and welcoming. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning on our next visit to Llandudno.
Good traditional Italian restaurant. Food was tasty and well presented and food and wine were of high quality. Service was excellent. Staff found a table for us at short notice even though they were very busy. Definitely recommend giving Mamma Rosa's a try!
The Italian restaurant didn't have any Italian wine or Italian staff. The linguine was overcooked and tasteless, it didn't seem freshly made - it was so hot it took a while to eat, like it was just taken out of the microwave.
