Bidrage med feedbackThis was a really good experience. It was mine, and my friends first time at this place and the staff were super friendly, and gave us some wonderful suggestions. The food was delicious and definitely filled me up. It is a little pricey, however you getwhat you pay for.
I have been waiting for this moment to eat real brisket for 8 years! And MacKenzie?s did not disappoint, and even exceeded my expectations. What is more important my South Carolinian husband said he will now never eat BBQ anywhere else only in Texas, and McKenzie?s is now our to go place ??whenever we are in Houston. Thank you for your beautiful service and outstanding food!
If you?re ever in the Conroe area, try this place out!! Especially their Green apple Tea. I got a brisket grilled cheese, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, Mac cheese Oreo pudding???? OH?..muhh?..gggaawwwddd???????? Flavor in EVERY bite, literally. Thebrisket is dry like stated in other comments but still with flavor.
We came for dinner around 4:30. It wasn't busy. The outside of the restaurant made us question if it was still in business?no signage of the building itself. But when you walk in it?s clean and nicely put together! Staff are so very professional, too. Igot the sausage and pulled pork. Hubs got brisket and turkey. We shared the meats and we both really liked the sausage (a littlespicy with bold flavor) and the brisket (just enough marbling to give it nice flavor). Neither of us liked the pulled pork?afirst for us. Can?t really put a finger on it, but it was kind of mushy? The big pieces were fine, but the smaller pieces justhad a weird mouth-feel. Maybe they used something besides a pork shoulder? I don?t know, but we didn?t like it. The turkey wasturkey?would have been better with crispy roasted skin still attached. Our sides were Mac-n-cheese and beans?both average. Whenwe walked in, we wanted to love this place, but it fell short with the food.
I came to this restaurant during an event I was attending. I figured I would get some of the barbeque to go and order fried pickles while I was there. Fried pickles would be a nice snack as they always seem to get soggy when you take them home. Let'sstart with the fact the fried pickles were amazing and they were cooked so well I probably could have taken them home withoutthem becoming soggy! (Next time I will) As for the meat, I picked up pulled pork and jalapeno sausage. They were both prettygood, but the jalapeno sausage had much more of a kick than I expected. I don't mind spice, I just wasn't expecting it, so ifyou like only a little spice then pass on the sausage. The customer service was really great, friendly and accommodating. Socome here, try the food, enjoy the customer service and don't forget the fried pickles!!
