Hotel de Normandie - Conches-en-Ouche

When we were here, it was the only restaurant that was open, nobody was, so we were worried. the service was friendly locals who came, were friendly and eating was very good. even done something that was not on the menu. for us.

We enjoyed a 2-course lunch for €14,5- together with a pichet wein at €14. it's a nice room and eating was very good. service was friendly though a shadow slow that would normally not have been a problem, but we were on a tight schedule on this day. the parking lot is over the street in a free public parking lot where there was a lot of space. we enjoyed our visit and would be happy to eat there again.

This is a family owned hotel and restaurant that uses locally sourced produce: fruit and vegetables, poultry, meat, even the chocolate in their desserts comes from a chocolate factory located only 15 miles away! The chef, Didier, is a 'Maître Restaurateur ' or 'Master Chef ' in English... and he speaks excellent English and the menus are also in English. The hotel is located right in the town centre, with free parking, and has several rooms reserved for people who are in a wheelchair. The rooms look over a little park inside, so they are nice and quiet, and tastefully done. A great place for business people or for a family and Conches alos has lots of things to visit, with its three museums, old fortified tower and parks.

We stayed at the hotel on a Monday night and ate at the restaurant the following day. This is obviously a popular table in Conches en Ouches. We were celebrating a birthday and a wedding anniversary. The food was tasty and the menu original: frogs...legs (which my English boyfriend felt obliged to try!! , foie gras pear starter, pork stuffed with camembert and a home-made chocolate cake ordered at breakfast! The service was very good and the hosts very attentive. A good place for foodies and good value for money.

We had a good meal in the hotel during our stay. eating was mixed, from okay to very good. worth was however very good and service-friendly.
