Mario's - Columbus

Absolutely, hands down, the best home cooked Greek food in all of Columbus and possibly the country!! My husband and I found this place by accident and decided to try it. We didn't think it was going to be this good! (It had a small sign and was up a flight of stairs and all the main restaurants were ground level along the main street. But we were totally blown away! It was one of the most delicious meals we have eaten at any restaurant since moving here some thirteenyears ago. The owner does all the cooking herself with fresh ingredients. She uses her own tried and true recipes and is a lovely, and friendly hostess. I felt as if my mother had just cooked it herself. If I could rate this ten stars Iwold because that's how good this woman's cooking was!!!!! If you ever go to Columbus, Georgia this is a must stop at place to eat!!!

First experience was poor the waitress just short of forced us to buy more expensive entrees. Second time they were very slow in bringing things out. And finally the third time they closed after I had called to confirm the at they were open. I hate that this is Columbus?s only Arab restaurant. I love the food and in my experience people from this part of the world are typically some of the most hospitable people. I would give them an A- on food quality, but a failingscore on service. Would not recommend.

Our food was amazing. We came in at 1:50 and they didn?t hesitate to seat us and provide excellent service. The lamb shank was tender and had the perfect seasoning that balanced against the yellow rice. I ordered the combination of shish kebab, chicken kebab, and keta, it too was amazing! The spinokopita was yummy too!
