Bidrage med feedbackGreat find super fresh local fish well cooked very pleasant atmosphere not too touristy says the tourist. back tonight. sardinen had to die.
The good, the bad and the ....same sauce ingredients with three different dishes. We enjoyed some great fresh local ingredients and a top notch local rose wine. But...each dish was, somehow, let down. Same sauce for red mullet (lovely and fresh but over cooked) and locally caught shark (strangely gelatinous) and the same flavours and ingredients had cropped up with the anchovy starter a local speciality. And then the 'chocolate ' dessert was left hardly touched by one of us and finished by the other because of the fresh raspberry glaze (the dishes only redeeming element). We so much wanted to enjoy this meal, our first in Collioure. We looked at the menu and discussed the possibility of a return visit to try the meat choices they do sound delicious. But no, this won 't be happening. €100 down, lesson learnt and we 'll be trying one of the other recommended establishments.
We had a really delicious meal here - simply cooked fish, risotto and ratatouille, but absolutely delicious. Owners are lovely - they speak very little English and we are hopeless at French - but they are very kind and helpful and we had a great time. Location is on a busyish road (by collioure standards) rather than picturesque sea view but was actually nice to be somewhere quieter.
We have visited many restaurants in Collioure. Most of them have excellent food and good service. We visited L'Escale Bleue first time for lunch and chose the lunch menu. The fish was so good that we went back for dinner the same evening. Starters were Moule farcie and Assiette terre et mer. Very good. Main courses were Durade and local fish with vegetables and rice. Just superb - best fish in Collioure in our opinion! The restaurant is located a little outside the hectic tourist area. It is an advantage to understand some words French.Service - excellent. We will come back next time in Collioure. Recommended to all that like good fish!
Good fresh simple fayre served in bright surroundings. The choice was mainly carte du jour style options which suited us fine. Despite some language issues (on the part of our limited French) we got the chef to choose the fish....the meal was delicious. Great place for freshly prepared simple meal served by the couple that run the restaurant.
