Bidrage med feedbackDuring my most recent visit, I enjoyed a delicious lunch of pumpkin curry, Dahl, rice, salad, toasted coconut, a jackfruit pie, and a side salad. The lunch plates are always organic and gluten-free, which is a nice bonus. I appreciate that they offer a selection of non-dairy milks at no extra charge. The coffee and specialty teas are also fantastic. For dessert, I highly recommend the Crumbs chocolate cake or iced strawberry donut. FOE tends to get very busy during lunchtime, so I recommend arriving early to secure a seat. If not, they do offer eco-friendly containers for taking food to go.
This restaurant has a longstanding presence in the community on Smith Street and is popular with regulars. The front section serves a variety of healthy dishes made with seasonal ingredients, as well as coffee and refreshments. The vegetarian and vegan options are reasonably priced. In the back, there are goods available for purchase like vegetables, eggs, handmade soaps, candles, spices, and even beanies. They also sell packets of seeds. The restaurant promotes ethical shopping and buying in bulk, and encourages customers to bring their own bags. They have information on local community events and opportunities for volunteering. The restaurant is wheelchair and kid-friendly, with good parking available. It's a must-visit spot and it's a shame there aren't more places like this in Melbourne.
I definitely support this eco-friendly and budget-friendly ethos. I love getting a generous portion of delicious food at an affordable price.
Had lunch there and the food was fantastic. Really clean healthy plant based food, highly recommended. for those looking for vegan/vegetarian options.
The daily plates are good value for a healthy and balanced meal. The pizza slices are normally super delicious too! Plus baked vegan treats are spot on.
