Restaurant Mahalo - Colima

Fine restaurant, open dach. seafood were good, but not exceptional. the red snapper sarandeado was a much unusual full of bones. the next door is a good ice cream shop. many parking spaces on the street.

My husband I tried Mahalo on the recommendation of hotel staff and liked it so much, we went back the next night with friends. The ceviche is very fresh and tasty. I loved the grilled rellano stuffed with shrimp cheese. Our waitress, Edna,...was extremely helpful in recommending entrees and even let us sample several sauces before ordering. We enjoyed the fresh juices and mojitos, too.

We've been for lunch and dinner several times. We always enjoy our food. The burgers are great, the shrimp and fish dishes are delicious and have different flavours than the usual. The starters are very good also. We've found the service to be very friendly...and generally prompt. Prices are very appropriate to the quality of food. The only complaint would be that a few times we ordered the small sized meal or appetizer and are charged for the large sized one. Not a super big deal, but since it has happened a few times now we are sure to be clear and check the bill.

I am in Colima Mexico to be with my love who is in ICU at the Puerta de Hierro hospital about blocks from Mahalo. His sister is here with me and we have been going to Mahalo almost everyday for lunch. The food and...wait staff is wonderful. The owner, Francisco, who speaks good English, has also been very kind to us giving us free samples of food to see if we like it before we order. The fusion of hawaiian and mexican flavors is something to be experienced. Mindy can not eat dairy or gluten products and they have deliciously accommodated her needs. I highly recommend eating here and being well taken care of by the wonderful wait staff.

The eating was average, from some ground seafood in colima, although a short distance from the sea, is rare fresh and almost always frozen, which reduces its taste. but this is not the only problem, plates were served with mostly salat and rice, which do not seem to like many people, since when the waiter chose our teller he wore the table from another and we noticed that they hardly touched the sweet. the presentation is okay. there is almost no parking space, park service (if it can be called), her car will park against a fee on the road, what is the point? the opposite does not appear very safe at night. one of the waiters did not seem as much as customers, he touched everyone on the shoulders while served out carelessness. annoyed and unprofessional. drinks were good, at least it is not overpriced.
