55 Degrees North - Coleraine

There are a lot of negative reviews about this place, but I have to disagree with most of them. I first visited 55 North many years ago when it first opened. The food was delicious and the menu was extensive. However, it had been a long time since my last visit so we decided to give it another try. The restaurant's location and views of the East Strand are just as beautiful as I remembered. However, I noticed that the menu had been scaled back and seemed to focus on typical burger and fish and chips options, with the exception of their upscale fish and chips dish. We started with the pulled pork tacos, which were filled with flavorful pork and fresh salads, and then had the upscale fish and chips which came with 6 large juicy prawns and crispy, delicious chips. The restaurant was busy on a Saturday night and I look forward to returning to 55 North soon.

Visited the caffe today with friends our furbabies. the owner came with a bowl of water for the dogs. he took my young one walk to let me eat my lunch. I can't thank him enough.
