Zen Japan - Coffs Harbour

I appreciate the concept of cushions on the floor at the tables, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par. The "rice balls" I ordered turned out to be more like rice sandwiches with no flavor in the middle. The noodle dish I had was plain, with rice bubbles on top. I was really let down by this restaurant, as there was also no table service provided.

I only give one excellent review in which city in the world. Since I tried many restaurants in this area this one was my favorite!I just love this place, they have such an incredible ambiance! Really zen and unique!! Staff try to understand what you really want, so helpful! The food is fresh and delicious! To repeat!!!

Coffs Harbour is very lucky to have this little spot. The atmosphere and the staff really make this restaurant truly special. The food was well prepared and fresh, the owners really care about the food they serve. The all vegan menu was super tasty and really worth trying even for the non vegan person. The beer on tap went really well with the meal and for saki lovers the collection is huge. Its a different dining experience but just go with it and just enjoy!

A very compact and cosy atmosphere, sitting cross legged on cushions on the floor. Host welcomes everyone who enters and explains the process. Limited beer option but it was very authentic and delicious. Food is delicious and comes promptly. Good value for money and a cool experience.

A friend and I chanced on this little bit of Japan and ended up enjoying the experience immensely. Traditional food and trying the different sake's all in a traditional Japanese atmosphere was unexpected. Great experience.
