The perfrect country pub. the calf’s head in worston nr. clitheroe is the perfect country pub. a traditional inn, located in beautiful landscape at the foot of the pendle hill, combine a country house hotel, restaurant and pub on a website. the walled gardens are wonderful, with a stream flowing through them, complete with habitable escapes. they can eat in the pub, outside in the garden, or in the huge winter garden. there is a great selection of foods, and they take a pick-N-mix approach where they like any combination they like. there is something for everyone. Eating is great. there is unfortunately a disadvantage: the popularity of the place is also it undoing and they can find that they are full of a waiting snake to get a table. it is a popular place for high times. it can be better to ring forward and reserve if it is for a special occasion. highly recommended. open daily.

The calf’s head is one of the best pubs I have for years. it mixes traditional pub-like atmosphere and healthy eating with relaxed atmosphere. perfect for drinks, bar snacks or even a hotel room is the calf’s head briliant.

I was here three times last year. had never had a bad meal or experience. eating was always very good and cannot complain about the size of the portions. good selection of dresses on the menu as well as daily specialties. at my last visit I ordered the sirloin steak. I asked for my rareness. the first impression on the first taste was slightly overlaid, but as I cut into the steak, it just got tastier and tastier. I would certainly recommend the calf’s head. my only minor complaint at this visit was not a coworker came by to check or ask if everything was in order. what made it even worse was that we saw the staff go to other tables. such a small quibble, but this has not distracted from the quality of the meal.

Great staff super friendly, absolutely brilliant service and the food as always is impeccable. Well worth a visit whether its a couple or 100 people they can cater for you in style. Oh and its very reasonable priced

Lovely food but such an increase in prices. Loved the lasagne. I had a side salad too, but £3.80 for a small side salad is crazy!! The dining area is now beautifully modern and attractive
