Off The Grill Mediterranean - Clifton

When I walked in to a gray room with a flickering light I thought maybe they had permanently closed. There were no visible employees a man was in the back talking on the phone. When he came out I ordered a chicken platter, which is literally 2 slices of tomato, 3 pieces of store bought pita, a bunch of iceberg lettuce, shredded chicken, yellow rice, and their signature white sauce. So let’s get into it the chicken is plain, no flavor. The white sauce is basically just mayonnaise, and the yellow rice is not basmati. They were out of falafel, and they also charge a 3.9% fee if you pay with a card. I’m not sure why this restaurant has good reviews based on my experience maybe they have better days? Nothing about this was worth my time or money, but most importantly the food didn’t even attempt to resemble anything Mediterranean. I hate leaving bad reviews because I want to be positive and support local businesses, but I would not recommend this restaurant.

It’s upsetting because this place was my go to. i went there today to purchase a platter and when i started to eat it there was a fish-like taste with every bite. the chicken tasted very off as well. i noticed something different in the flavor of everything from the countless times i’ve gotten it in the past. i wish them the best and hope they can improve or restore to back how they used to be. until then, will not be returning soon. stomach feels unwell

I ordered the falafel platter at this restaurant. Although the food was freshly cooked, the quality of the ingredients used was subpar. The falafel had a grainy texture and lacked flavor. The accompanying salad only consisted of chopped lettuce and a few pieces of tomato. I would recommend dining elsewhere for a better experience.

Found the perfect place to get NYC style chicken over rice. I always order from here and it's always delicious. Also, the white sauce is great!

This restaurant is probably the best place for affordable, hearty meals packed with delicious flavors! I want to give a special shoutout to Sam and the other staff members. Whenever I'm in need of a satisfying meal, I always come here. The service and quality are always excellent. The only downside is that it can get crowded, but that just adds to the charm of this hidden gem.
