Punjab - Clermont-Ferrand

Dined here on a Wednesday evening, arrived at opening time so restaurant was empty. Staff were pleasant and attentive, food was ok, portion size was not the best but nonetheless was tasty.

Spotted during an evening meal a day earlier, we visited the Punjab Restaurant in need of some carbs. The welcome was warm and friendly and the interior of the restaurant (you can as easily eat outside) is clean, colourful and pleasant. There is a perfectly acceptable and inexpensive buffet option but the a la carte menu is very good indeed. The waiter was extremely helpful in advising which fishes would be suitable for someone needing gluten free dishes and, we noted, was very friendly and helpful to families with young children. The mixed starter, butter chicken and lamb dishes were very good, as were various kinds of rice and the paneer naan. The restaurant seems to attract a fair clientele, but deserves to be full all the time. We shall certainly return next time we are here. A great alternative to the perfectly good, but rather predictable, fare available in the nearby alternatives.

Warm welcome from the host who has great English, wine is great and food I had was take away which maybe wasn't as good by the time I brought it home, next time I will eat in and review again

Beautiful and beautiful discovery tonight for a dinner after a late meeting. despite a arrival at more, we were very well greeted with smile and kindness and were able to discover very good dishes.
