Bidrage med feedbackMy Family and I were recently effected by the tornado 12/09/23 here in Clarksville. I had my mind set on a beef and weck sandwich all day while dealing with cliam adjusters and clean up. I went to Fanelli' deli around 15:00 (3:00pm) they were cleaning and closing the kitchen for the day. I stood in the doorway not sure to enter. The owners/staff welcomed me in and explained there hours of operation. I explained my recent chain of events and the need to cure my families craving. They made me 2 Beef on Wecks and 1 Italian sub with out hesitation. It made my families day. Great people, amazing food and service. Thank you Fanelli's deli.
I came in right after 2pm to grab a sandwich. I was excited to finally try this place since it’s always closed when I’m downtown. Now I understand some of the reviews of which I read while standing in the deli waiting for my sandwich.Apparently they close the kitchen at 2pm but I wouldn’t know that because the handwritten paper sign on the door was blocked by the door being propped open. When I went in to order my excitement was immediately greeted with “I guess you can order, my grill is still open!” To which I replied that I only wanted a turkey and cheese sandwich. A cold one. The guy was SO RUDE. Now I know why others mention -this is Tennessee, not New York. If he wants his business to thrive he may want to rethink his comments and attitude. The women too. The business doesn’t seem to be thriving either. She was insanely irritated that I ONLY wanted a cold sandwich. I told her what I wanted on it and she practically made fun of me for not wanting other additional toppings. Okay…I added a few veggies. I jokingly asked her not to judge me and that I didn’t like mayo or mustard.I look down at the iPad that was defaulted to a 20% tip (love it when they do that! and all the additional toppings she forced me to add were .50. Nope, asked her to remove. 15+ for the dang sandwich. FOR REAL?? oh, it comes with chips and a drink. I didn’t get a choice on that either. Then the guy starts making my sandwich. They both proceeded to openly discuss “what SHE wanted” on my apparently boring sandwich. The owners were not quiet about their distaste for my turkey and cheese sandwich.Sandwich is done. He drops it on the floor and picks it up as if I didn’t see it. It was wrapped so no biggie, I’m easy going. He bags it up and I leave as quickly as possible.Sandwich was decent enough but NOT worth the high costs. If you have to charge your customers those prices to cover your overhead, don’t put a restaurant/deli in a prime downtown location.I guarantee if their attitudes don’t change they’ll be closed before the end of 2024.
Went there when the first opened 2 years ago, sure it takes awhile to work out the bugs of a new place. But as a New York Style Italian Deli ?? No Boars Head Cold Cuts !! The only brand I recognized was Taylor Ham. My wife and I stuck with that !! Sorry guys, as a New Yorker we will stick with Publix who carry ALL BOARS HEAD !!
Great food. Quick. I believe family owned too. Very friendly folks. Sandwich flavors far exceed expectations. Would come back to show friends in the future. Hope they continue to do well.
Love this place and it's less expensive than the grocery store at this point. Excellent people, clean, great atmosphere.
