This is your sign to go right now! I was finally able to try this place and now I'm already planning my next visit. I really wanted something different for lunch instead of the usual fast food for a cheat meal. We did try to order here months back but was unsuccessful so I just decided to go in and order takeout. Yes, mask are enforced. I walked in and was greeted immediately. While letting them know this first visit I had a chance to look over the menu and was asked if I had any questions. The wings looked so enticing so I asked about the flavors and of course the snow cheese! After my explanation I ordered 20 wings. The honey butter/ soy garlic/ spicy chili with a side of snow cheese since I had no idea about the flavor Snow cheese fries and a bulgogi cup bop. (This was not all for me lol) Since the cook their food fresh be ready to wait about 15-20 minutes. I came back and I was also explained about the palette cleansers, a house made picked radish and slaw mix and of course I wanted to give it a try. The taste: So I finally got home to try and Wowwee! The wings were a perfect size, crunchy not soggy. All flavors of the wings I ordered were so flavorful. My favorite was the chili. The snow cheese fries were addicting! And let's not forget about the cupbop! It was packed to the right with bulgogi two fried dumplings, zucchini, carrots, I believe a sweet potato, and rice. I'm getting that again too! All in all if you're doubtful about going. Please don't. Small business's count on us and this is on of Clarksville's gems. I wouldn't lie on Yelp lol.
After hearing great reviews about this place and being propelled to try every Korean restaurant in this area, I finally tried Chimaek. Thanks for the recommendation William G. The server explained to me that chimaek is chi for chicken and maek for maekju, Korean for beer). Very Cute. She was very nice and explained the menu to me. I was interested in trying the menu items of GOP Chang Jeongol, a beef tendon soup, and fish cakes. She said the fried chicken was the most popular item. The tendon soup was rarely ordered and was only requested by a select group. I ordered the spicy and soy garlic wings for my takeout. She said they came with pickled radish and cabbage. The takeout of ten wings with pickled radish and cabbage cost $13.13. The chicken wings were a lot in quantity and big in size. Not my usual gas station chicken wings. They were crispy and tasty. I preferred the spicy ones the most. First thoughts after eating my Chimaek takeout. These chicken wings are exactly how I like my friends and dates: Fast, cheap, and easy.... and spicy with a certain refined elegance. The pickled radish gave a certain elegance to the chicken wings. I wish I had ordered more. I love pickled radish. Diced the chicken wings up and threw it in a bed of rice with the pickled radish and cabbage. Doctored it up with some ponzu sauce and a dash of yum sauce and sour cream....smashed up some spicy chicharrones for garnish on top of the dish for some delicate crunch perfect. I give this place 5 stars. This is my favorite Korean place in this area so far. Chimaek proves that delicious food can be fast, cheap, and easy.
Awesome Korean chicken must try with an open mind if you've never been to Korea! Full of flavor!
