La Piccoletta - Claremont

This is the place to go if you want REAL Italian food. It 's a bit tricky to find at first, and maybe why the locals in Claremont call it the ;best kept secret ;. The place means ;The Little Thing ; and it sure is. It seats around 40 people! You can see the chef make the meal because the kitchen is in the room! He makes great pasta with several sauce choices. The antipasto is Tuscan-style and fantastic. The desserts are imported from Milan! I 'm so sick of cookie-cutter restaurants. This is so unique! It reminds me of a restaurant I was in Italy once. Very charming! If you 're lucky enough to find this place, you have to stop and have a bite!

If you weren't aware of how great this restaurant used to be, you wouldn't fully grasp how disappointing it is now. They don't prepare good pasta, and being a pasta-only establishment, that's a significant problem. I believe they should consider revamping the menu to feature something they excel at, if that's even an option.

I fell in love with La Piccoletta the moment I entered. I've returned countless times with friends and family. The food is amazing, and the service is excellent. The ambiance makes you feel like you've stepped into a trattoria in Italy. The insalata Caprese is even better than what we've experienced in Rome.

I had heard about this place for years and finally decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. The food was nothing out of the ordinary, and the kitchen simply didn't meet our expectations.
