I ordered the meal deal for 2 online and it came at the exact time it was expected. As I live on the outskirts of Caragh it’s so hard to find places that deliver AND accept online payment. The food only cost €30 (including the delivery) and we got chicken balls, spring rolls, salt and chilli chicken, 2 egg fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, prawn crackers and chicken curry AND a dip! Was surprised, given the name, that there was no fish available! But the weather had been atrocious. Had the beef burger instead, and it was truly delicious. Resident veggie had the veggie burger, and the little one had tagliatelle, which she thought tasted strange, but I think it was freshly made. Pleased all round.

First time in this pub for the Damien Dempsey gig, not enough bar staff on to cope with the amount of people, toilets stopped working no water to flush and no water to wash hands, also no heaters were working outside where they were serving hotdogs, everything done on the cheap.

Dined in the Lonesome Boatman at the weekend for the first time (since it was taken over), and was very disappointed. Food was just okay, service was very poor, very very slow despite not being even remotely busy, although I suspect they were busy earlier in the day, and definitely could 've done with more staff on duty, especially on a weekend. Wouldn 't be a fan of the revamped premises, to say very rustic would be kind but maybe it 's just unfinished. Several small kids running around the pub, screaming their heads off, climbing onto the bar stools with no parental supervision whatsoever which is more the parents ' fault than the staff in fairness. I wouldn 't visit again any time soon.
