Bidrage med feedbackWe were looking for a traditional pub meal and that's exactly what we got at this restaurant. The food was amazing, even though they had to run out to get some peppers, they were very apologetic for the slight delay. They even surprised us with a little bowl of ice cream for our baby. Overall, we were very pleased with the food, service, and atmosphere. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt it was necessary in this case.
My husband ordered a chicken burger and fries, which arrived promptly. However, the burger had an unpleasant coating and the fries were undercooked and hard. The accompanying salad was lackluster. Save your money and avoid this restaurant. We now understand why it was so empty.
Late Monday evening in April, lovey old pub inside; particularly the booths which seat 4-6 and allow a bit of privacy for a group. However, £7 for a pint of flat, tasteless Sam Smiths lager is ridiculous. For those not from UK, Sam Smiths is often known as the brewer of last resort, the beer is normally poor but the low prices normally reflect the quality. Not here, the first £7 pint in a normal London boozer, no wonder central London is quieter than the local graveyard.
I ordered a glass of Prosecco, but the server asked if sparkling wine was acceptable. I assumed they were similar, so I said yes. However, the sparkling wine was almost completely flat. When I asked for a new glass, the server explained that sparkling wine is not as fizzy as Prosecco and that it was near the end of the bottle. I didn't enjoy it and decided to order something else. To my surprise, I was still charged for the replacement drink, even though I left the full glass of sparkling wine on the bar. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.
Excellent pints of bitter, called in every evening of our break. Good service. Pleasant surroundings. Location good for theatre land. Worth a visit
