While the term 'suburban Chinese' may carry some negative connotations, Mini Dragon defies expectations and stands out as one of the top local Chinese restaurants. The food is delicious and the service is top-notch, with 'Amy' in particular always being welcoming and remembering regulars by name. The combination dishes are highly recommended, as well as the Sichuan and Sambal styles. It's true that if you're willing to spend more for a higher-end, 'authentic' Chinese dining experience, you can head to Glen Waverley's Chinatown up the road. However, for those seeking good value and above-average local Asian cuisine, Mini Dragon is definitely worth a visit.

A great local jewel. We went to Mini Dragon for a friends b'day, we were not dissapointed! Situated in a set of strip shops it is a hidden jewel!!! We had the banquet which was $27.90 pp. they looked after me with my food allergies and ensured we were all well attended to. The dim sims and spring rolls were to die for !!! I love a good dim sim so it's often the litmus test! Lemon chicken was delicious a dish that I am often bit find of as it's usually sickly sweet and not very nice . They came to the table and served it to us with their delicious fried rice . After the chicken we had their scrumptious fillet steak to finish off with the prawn combination omg the prawns were amazing !!! Amy and her husband who run this place make sure everyone is looked after, and treated well. They have been serving our friends for over 15 years and she told us how she'd watched their kids grow up. For dessert we chose from their list fried ice cream which did not dissapoint! We will be back despite us living in healesville this has quickly become a fave of ours! Thanks amy for the great time and the great food !
