Mama's Place - Citronelle

Great food most all the time one of the best steaks we have ever had. Tried their new pizza it isn't to great needs a better sauce. And the Buffett is great but they need to ask people with long hair to please pin it back cause I noticed it getting in the food so that will be a no for us again. Also the server we have had twice now we will not use again she walks off before you finish giving her your order.

The quality of the food has improved over time since they first opened. Enjoyed a nice fish and shrimp platter for lunch yesterday... plump and moist catfish fillets with just the right amount of cornmeal dredge and seasoning; shrimp had a finer cornmeal coating and were cooked to proper doneness. My daughter wanted to try the garbage fries for an app and so we shared an order and we both found them to be totally addicting. They've also added a pizza kitchen since the last time we stopped in. We're losing so many good places to eat out due to rising costs and lack of good help, it's nice to see this place hanging in there.

I got the fish and shrimp which was delicious. They make their ranch dressing, and it was some of the best I've ever had. They smoke the hamburger steak so we decided not to get that. The burger was a bit heavy on something.. I think wistershire and/or liquid smoke. But, it was huge and loaded with bacon, and no skimping on the toppings.We'd love to eat here again.

We were greeted at the door like family. Just small chat about our car. We had just bought a telluride before making our trip. The lady's sister had bought one. Then we talked about what was good on the menu. She named off several. Told us about the new pizza oven. Our conversation ended and we ordered the food was great. The waitress outstanding. When we were leaving we struck up another conversation with the same lady. Turns out she was the owner herself. The kids got a kick out of that. They way she talked about the food to us was not someone bragging about their business. It was just a stranger who enjoyed the food. If you find yourself traveling hwy 45 through Citronelle AL. You must stop in Mama's Place. Enjoy one of the most delicious and holesome meals they offer. If you are greeted at the front by a sweet beautiful lady take the time to converse with her. It's very rare for that experience while traveling.

We stopped on our way home from vacation and if we are ever back in the vicinity, we’ll be back! Food was delicious and plentiful. Service and hospitality was excellent. We like to eat local food and flavors when we travel, and the catfish and fried okra were perfection. The owner was the sweetest. Nice family atmosphere.
