Limited selection on offer of wine by the glass when we went. Food was pricy for the serving size, those who ordered curry were given a ridiculously small portion and left feeling hungry. The food we had was ok, but not great. Naan kind of tasted like a scone with a sweetness to it. The staff were absolutely lovely though, which is a real positive. This is one of Wellington’s Hidden gems when it comes to Indian Cuisines. They make everything fresh, once the order is placed. Even the spices are ground after you order, and no spice mixes are used. Small menu but whatever they do, they do it well. The egg plant starter dish is to die for, and so is the chicken. The mains are absolutely wonderful. And the Naan is simply the best in town, probably the best naan in NZ. Worth every penny and will definitely go back! This is indian place that i visited as wine bar (as advertised). The atmosphere is very simple (as a cheap cafe) and wouldn’t say the place is very cozy (except a very very nice corner with armchairs). The food is all good and delicious. Despite decent choice of wine, prices are ridiculous. Common world practice is multiply retail price by 3, but these people multiply retail by 5-6 times, taking cheapest segment supermarket wines for $14-17 and selling a glass for the price of the bottle. There are no middle segment wines by the glass. In addition, it’s 2% surcharge for any contactless payment, which is a total rip-off (while most of places charge 0.5-1.5% in nz) The service itself is very friendly and nice. Absolutely avoid as a wine place. A rip-off. Otherwise welcome for the indian food.
