Bidrage med feedbackThis place is a nice choice if you want to eat sushi in the Saguenay region. I would recommend it to everyone.
The restaurant has private rooms available for family or small group gatherings, but the service is lacking. We visited twice and it is clear that they are not focused on providing quick and efficient service. In addition, the situation with the front hostess is chaotic. We waited for over ten minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Overall, our dining experiences in Chicoutimi were subpar, with a C for effort and an F for delivery.
The staff at this restaurant were very accommodating and there were no language barriers. The private rooms had an authentic look and felt very cool, but it was necessary to make reservations. We were surprised to find out that we needed to bring our own wine or beer, but luckily there was a liquor store only a 5-minute walk away on the same side of the road past the McDonald's. We placed our order and then left to buy some sake. When the food finally arrived, it was delicious. The prices were reasonable as well.
I stopped at Aki in Chicoutimi for a late lunch in the middle of the afternoon. The boss's special was fantastic and the service was quick. I highly recommend it.
There are 2 Aki restaurant in Chicoutimi: one on the Talbot Boulevard (next to McDonald and supermarket), the other one is located on Racine Street (downtown, close to bar and urban life). I've been to both and the best is definitively the one located on...Talbot. We had a private loge, intimate, and funny with the special table and floor! The food was A 1 (sushi mostly), the service was ok but theere was a lack of knowledge about the menu! The one located on Racine was a bad experience. The General Tao chicken was just sad. The table we had was in the middle of the place, surrounded by other I almost had some difficulties to standup without disturbing other people around. My girlfriend's plate was aslo tasteless... One good point on both: you can bring your own wine and beer so the bill was about 50 60$ for 2.
