Petterino's - Chicago

My wife and I had a drink at the bar and the bartender was great. We sat down and it felt like we were in factory. After 5 minutes the waiter came over after he was done talking to a few other tables and asked us if we were ready to order, not about drinks or any questions. Right to order. Then we ordered the creamy mushroom soup, and it was water. My wife left it on the side of the table full for almost 7-8 min and the waiter walked by 3-4 times without a word. Asst mgr saw the cup and she questioned the soup, and my wife told her the problem and she would deduct it off the bill. Food came out fast and left at table. Waiter never checked on us the entire meal. We ate 25% of the food. The chicken parm was overcooked and rubber. My wife had mushroom noodle pasta and had no flavor. Waiter stopped back with check in his hand and said, no dessert, I take it . I grabbed the check and gave him my credit card. We had 6 pm reservation and was done at 6:45. No asking about another drink, more bread or anything. We go downtown to shows in Chicago, we won 't be coming back,

Our server and all the staff was excellent! However, our food took an unusually long time to come out ..

We were seated near the door, and it was cold. I ate with my coat on. Our food took much longer than usual but was delivered to the table 2 minutes after I asked our server about it. The manager came to apologize and was very nice. My drink was empty for a long time before the manager came by again and refilled it. We didn’t see a lot of our server. He was very nice but I got the impression the restaurant was short staffed. In the women’s restroom, there was no toilet paper in the dispenser but there were two rolls of toilet paper on the floor. One was visibly soiled with something brown. This visit to Petterino’s not as good as past visits.

Service was a bit rushed. Food was good but not great

We were here for a pre-theatre lunch and to celebrate my niece's birthday. We were seated promptly. Staff was friendly and service was attentive but not overbearing. Food was delicious. Would definitely come back!
