New Wave Coffee - Chicago

Gret spot if you need to get some work done, or just feel the need to get some awesome, unpretentious coffee around Logan Square. The place is huge, but it seems like it's always busy. They also have a cute little patio that faces the boulevard, so definitely go sit out there and think about your life choices.

Great cafe to for a quick coffee and pastry or to just chill and hang out. Super friendly staff, their pastries are drool worthy, lots of vegan and gluten free options, awesome decor and the best iced coffee I've had in a while. Love New Wave!

HUGE space with tons of unique sitting areas. Great if you want to sit in a corner get some work done. Or if you need to meet with people to work on a project. They're also open pretty late which is a definite plus.

Punk Rock Coffee Shop. This is my second time here, yesterday was the my first. Not only is it a stone 's throw from my place in Logan Square but I dig the atmosphere and the clientele. The decor is CMYK, exposed brick, and indie art. The music is eclectic ranging from new wave (imagine that) to punk to glam, to do-whap, and a little loud. Not so great for meditation but perfect for drowning out distractions. <br/ <br/ It seems to be a hangout for the indie types (as is Logan Square in general) tattoos and skinny jeans abound. Fixies U locked to bike racks and meters outside. They have have free WIFI and a big screen TV with an old school Nintendo for customer use.<br/ <br/ The coffee is really good, they usually have a light and a dark roast. Yesterday I had an almond croissant which was flakey, moderately sweet and delicious. Today I had the '9 to 5 ' a pretzel roll, with herb cream cheese, bacon and tomato, very tasty!<br/ <br/ This place is certainly not for everyone but if you like your hangout to be unique and a little frayed at the edges this place rocks.

Big fan of this place.... The wifi rules, the sandwiches are fantastic and they have tons of vegan stuff for my wife. I was talking to somebody that works there and they said their menu is at this point about a 50/50 split between vegan items and items with bacon in them. They brew Intelligensia coffee and generally have a light and dark roast available and for those times you aren't in the mood for coffee, their tea selection is really strong too (try the rose petal green tea).
