Bidrage med feedbackThe service was great, very attentive and quickly provided everything we asked. My steak was not good; despite ordering rare, it very charred and not flavorful. Sides and apps were pretty good. Ambience feels too old-school fancy for what it is.
The appetizers: tuna tartare, pork bellies, calamari were excellent. The key lime pie and espresso and Stella Artois were excellent. The service was excellent. But I was really looking forward to the steak and this is a steakhouse. I had the 16 ozdry aged Delmonico, $68, and it was not a good experience. There was so much fat and grizzle, it was really more like 4 oz ofdelicious steak and about 12 oz of fat, grizzle and mediocre meat. You would think the chef or somebody in the kitchen wouldlook at that piece of meat before they bring it out to a customer and say hey maybe this isn't really up to our standards, but Iguess not. I would definitely go back because I work across the street from there at the merchandise mart, but I'm definitelynot going to order steak there again. Very disappointing. Tasted more like a steak from Outback or something versus a high-enddowntown restaurant.
This classic chophouse has been around for decades and still maintain fine dining with great ambiance, white tablecloth service, great plate presentation and superb taste. I had the NY Strip with chimichurri sauce. Delicious. My colleagues had thegrouper and the roasted chicken. They were both prepared perfectly. The chicken was perfect. Start with a wedge salad.
I decided to take a tour of Chicago steak houses for my birthday, because why not. I chose Kinze because it is woman owned and I was interested in the menu. I will say it was the most regretful $200 I have ever spent. I ordered the avocado tuna tartar, itwas good but basic, nothing jumped out as omg this is great! But it was satisfying; I then had the rack of lamb with a fetacrusted potato(sounds good right? and a side of creamed spinach. I am so UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED in the lamb entree, it wasliterally just pan seared meat....no flavor other than meat and a potato that was half done but nothing else other thanpotato....no butter, no salt, no nothing, no love. The reduction was loose with no flavor and I had no tomatoes, olives orcapers as described on the menu. The creamed spinach was very good. Nonetheless, the waiter was nice and friendly and even tookit back to bring me a new plate, unfortunately it was not any better. The meal seemed rushed and again unloved, but the rushedpart amazes me since I was the only person in the restaurant. One thing i will say is that whenever I have been to restaurantsthat I am planning to drop some cash at, including steak houses, I 'm always asked my choice of water, dude just poured the watern left and I had to ask twice for sparkling, I know that is a very minor detail but it did bug me a bit. Overall, it is sad tosay it was just so so disappointing ????
What a nice steakhouse. The inside is bright, yet classy. The service was amazing!!!! I love that they show you the steaks beforehand. I got the porterhouse and my partner got the delmonico, both great cuts. The pesto, feta, sriracha whippedpotatoes made my life worth it.
