Osteria Moderna - CHIAVARI

Was in Chiavari for the monthly antique fair and dropped into this place. We were attracted to it because it seemed busy. That was a mistake. The food was bland, the room small and stuffy, and with hard floors and no sound dampening in the ceilings it was impossibly noisy. Worst of all were the staff who couldn't have looked more disinterested. Who would've though that your diners would want to look at the menu once they were seated? Took forever to get attention and ask for a menu and then forever to order and then forever again to receive our bland food. Won't be returning that is for sure.

I found this place because of the filter ‘vegan options’. Well, there is one, but not very good. Also the waiters aren’t very friendly or helpful. My boyfriend had a 2nd course, for me there was nothing so I have been eating dry bread with oil (I had to ask for oil, otherwise it would have been even dryer). Would certainly not recommend this place!

Unlike many other restaurants in touristic places, this small Osteria will host you with real local dishes as well as wines. Just follow the little passage along with music and people's laughter. You can hardly deny the invitation to take the table and order a glass of local, chilled white wine. You do not have to see menu, just ask people around you what to have here.

Bon service et bonne cuisine. La viande est parfaite et quelques pâtes sont faites maison. Un bon endroit pour manger dans la maison en couple.
