La Rousseliere Golf Chateau De Cheverny

This is a great golf course, one of the best in Loire. The restaurant La Rousseliere is also one of the best in Cheverny, food is fantastic. Swimming pool is a great way to refresh after a hot day of golfing. The staff is nice, friendly and courteous, and Aurelien, the manager is great. Highly recommended.

This reasonably priced restaurant overlooking the tenth hole at the Cheverny Golf Club is well worth a visit even if you just come for a drink on the terrace outside. Entrance is open to everyone through the clubhouse. The restaurant is closed on Wednesday evening. Best to reserve. As it’s a golf club you can get something to eat relatively late in the afternoon so it’s worth checking out if you’re visiting the chateau nearby. It’s particularly charming with a view over the lake at sunset. The only drawback is if a golf competition prize-giving is taking place then your otherwise pleasant drink may be disturbed by old golfers in shorts and Lacoste polo shirts.

We were staying in a nearby B&B and the owner recommended La Rousseliere for lunch. She was so right! We sat on the outdoor patio and had a delicious meal of smoked salmon, then cod in a carrot saffron sauce with a mushroom timbale. With friendly service, a pleasant view and top notch food, this is a true find in Cheverny.

The food and service were both excellent. The buffet laid on during La Grande Semaine was efficiently and politely provided. The setting is idyllic overlooking the lake and 18th hole at Golf du Cheverny.

Toujours bien reçus et servis, malgré notre retard et l'affluence. La nature du lieu principal ne doit pas vous effrayer ni vous freiner. Très sympa et cool, vaut la peine d'y passer quand on est dans le coin.
