If I wanted tasteless food I would have had my wife cook. Can the owner pay attention to ALL THE COMMENTS ABOUT BLAND/TASTELESS FOOD? Pizza was bland and the hot wings were heavily breaded with no taste. SERIOUSLY can you guys use spices and herbs or at least salt and pepper. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
My family and I decided to grab some dinner after a busy Saturday. We opted to eat inside instead of out on the patio due to it being a hot and humid day. Our drinks arrived promptly and we placed our orders. My daughter ordered a hamburger with French fries. My wife wanted a side salad and son wanted breadsticks before our pepperoni pizza would arrive. Our pizza arrived piping hot and tasted great. If you are looking for a family owned restaurant with great flavor and a hometown feel visit Mr. Submarine Sal’s pizza in Cosby Village off Hull Street. Went tonight for my second time; first visit was during the covid pandemic and I can 't remember what I ate then, but it must have been satisfying enough to not be on my do not return list. Unfortunately after eating my pizza this evening, this place has now landed on that very list. Margherita pizza is traditionally made with either crushed tomatoes (Margherita sauce tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, Parsley or fresh sliced Roma tomatoes, thick slices of fresh Buffalo mozzarella, and at least one fresh basil leaf per slice. Sal 's recipe for a mini Margherita is thin crust (almost a flatbread , topped with a thin coating of greasy yellow melted mozzarella, and a few paper thin slices of a salad variety tomato (barely orange in color, seedy, not meaty. Three of my six slices were topped with basil leaves. What a $12 disappointment. Server did her job, but was slow to return to table and not overly friendly. Too bad because the atmosphere is cute with an impressive bar and a generous outdoor patio, where I could see myself patronizing in the future had the pizza not let me down.
