Pizza Express - Cheshire East

Highly recommend pizza Express. Me and my husband were very impressed, we were greeted by a lovely waitress called Kenzie who informed us they were very short of staff and she was the only person on at the time. Having said that the service we had was exceptional, very friendly, and prompt. The pizza was delicious. Need I say anymore?

Quaint little shop front location in the nice little village of knutsford. Opens up inside to a wider restaurant inside terrace area. Service some of the best I've ever had at a chain line this, actually fed back to the manager on the night how well her team were coordinated together. Food nice, arrived quickly and kids happy which is always good!

The food was ice cold and the pizza had no tomato. It had loads of basil and pepper. The service was horrendous and took 20 minutes to serve drinks. We were there for 2 hours waiting for food and then we were asked to leave for the next booking. The waiter was chewing gum and was very rude.

I have visited this branch of Pizza Express many times during the last few years and have be very pleased with the quality of food and service, however my last (and final) visit drew negatives against both the food and the attitude of the manager. The pizza when it arrived was lukewarm having been served on a cold plate. I complained and whilst they did offer to warm it up, which I rejected as I believe that all food should be checked and served as soon as it is cooked, not be warmed up and therefore not fresh. The attitude of the manager when I requested 50% reduction in the bill due to my uneaten pizza was poor. She used H&S as an excuse for cold plates saying it was policy not to serve hot food on hot plates.. My previous visits to this branch always had hot food served on warm plates. A 35% reduction was grudgingly offered following an argumentative attitude from the manager. I shall never return here and will reconsider whether to use Pizza Express branches again if company policy condones this poor quality food and management attitude.

It was all going well until our food arrived. My Leggera Pomodoro was basically a dry ring of bland pizza with 3 small tomatoes cut in half and a pile of rocket leaves. Nothing like the photo or description, with no basil or mozzarella. I didn’t want to wait for a replacement pizza, as it’s difficult with an active toddler, so was told the manager would come over. We waited, but no one came over so eventually asked for the bill. After saying we weren’t happy to pay for the Leggera (most of it was uneaten), the manager appeared. She had been doing an interview with another colleague and said they had been too busy to come over. We were a bit taken aback. Furthermore, her colleague who had been doing the interview, gave my husband and daughter an odd look and frosty appearance when they walked past. I thought Pizza Express was child friendly, so really wouldn’t expect this. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We felt so offended by the managers attitude that interviews are more important than customers, but it didn’t seem to resonate. There was no revised food bill and we could not wait any longer. Such a shame as the rest of the service and welcome were great.
