Bidrage med feedbackWe often went there; we always found it in the expensive side, but the meal was decent. Then we noticed that the soup was always the same that was usually made with left over vegetables. The menu has never changed...so we started...that we started until we found an internet site that sold quite everything that was on their menu, i.e. the same menu elements exactly prepared as it was served in the restaurant, each part separately packed and frozen...the last time that we went there, my wife ordered the Filet Mignon medium rarely... it came medium... they ate it anyway, but they did it anyway We went there several times and I don't think we had the same server twice...obvily, they couldn't keep the staff around, this place is in a region that promotes local products... there are all kinds of meat and vegetable producers around why buy frozen food!!! You can have a meal at Marco less than one kilometre away for half the money you spend in St Theodore, and the food is prepared with fresh ingredients.
This is our number a restaurant for our weekly bacon and egg breakfast! Beautiful furnishings and great service!
New in the area, we were looking for a fast food restaurant and from outside the St Theodore looked like the typical dinner you would find in Cottage Country. As soon as we got in, we were surprised to see that it was good... decorated and seemed a bit more uplifted than what we were looking for. The prices were a bit high, but we decided to try it anyway and made this our expensive restaurant from the month. It was about 1 o'clock on Sunday, and the place was completely empty from a table in a corner where a family of 5 sat. It took 10 minutes until the waitress recognized us as she was too busy chatting with the only other customers that seemed to be their friends. When she finally died to welcome us, we were shocked to find out that she was the owner (considers that she had given us much earlier attention in her position). We asked if we could sit on the back windows, a part of the restaurant with a very nice view over a valley and mountains, but we were told that the section was closed. We were shown to the first table next to the door. That was quite disappointing, and we couldn't find out why they didn't let us choose our own place when the restaurant was practically empty. We ordered a poutine appetizer and split a Margaretta pizza that the owner overhauled. It took another 10 minutes, just for our drinks to reach us how the owner chat with her table of friends again. We could not avoid hearing their conversation about how amazing their pizza was and that an earlier customer who had told her that it was not good, had no taste and that people like that were not welcome in their facility. Soon the table ended and went to the checkout at the door where we sat. We hoped this would end the loud speech as soon as they were gone. But the owner took them in the register for another 20 minutes. It was loud and obnox and my girlfriend and I had to talk to the other's ears just to hear each other. A typical situation awaiting you in a bar or club on Friday night, but not in a restaurant on Sunday afternoon. When the family finally left, the owner turned to us and realized that we were still there waiting for our food. She apologized and said she would see where our food was. When we got our poutins and pizza, it was another disappointment. The frits looked delicious, the typical dark brown, diner-like frits, but these were dry and overcooked. The pizza was one of the worse pizzas I've ever eaten. The crust was hard and hollow when you puncture it. The cheese used was tasteless and the tomato sauce was bitter (possibly from the use of fenced tomatoes). And then came the most insulting and dismaying what a restaurant could do. They started putting chairs on the tables and blocking the floor. We were the only table with chairs still on the floor. We naturally asked if they would close soon and if we had to go, but the owner assured us and said they were open until later in the evening. But there was no explanation for why they locked the floors while we tried to eat. On a positive note, however, they took credit and debit cards as means of payment, a kind of novelty in the country house. We were happy about it. But with the terrible experience and the average food we will never go back.
That was a wonderful find! A sweet, modern rest with good food and great service. Portions are generous. The fried mushroom cups were delicious and the lamb and frog legs were excellent. The cook actually came out to see how we did our... meal definitely a nice touch! They have a limited but completely acceptable wine list. The parking lot is usually overcrowded, which is a witness to the overall quality of this operation. It's nice to see a local restoration that makes such a good deal!
