Bidrage med feedbackWe were a party of 12 and had an amazing dinner at OTR. We had the baked Camembert, smoked duck salad, crab cakes and seared scallops. Out of these, our favourites were the outstanding smoked duck and crab cakes. The baked Camembert was good but not to everyone’s taste as it is served with a honey based sauce. <br/ For mains, we shared the beef steak, grilled lobster, country style chicken and pumpkin ricotta ravioli. All of them were fabulous.<br/ Desserts that we shared were the chocolate Cointreau, chocolate hazelnut crunch and the blueberry white chocolate. Our favourites were the first 2. Delicious !<br/ All in all, a meal to remember for a long time. We’ll be visiting again, soon !<br/
Exceptional food, lovely place. We had a family dinner there last night. The Duck Starter and the Cheese Salad were just mouth watering sort of to die for. We followed it up a a pumpkin saffron soup. For main courses, we had the fish dory and a lamb rump, both just followed in the same category of could not be better, it is so good. The semifreedo dessert was really nice too. Thanks to some exceptional food recommendations from Krishnan who helped serve us and from Chef Deva and other Chefs.
Best place to sit, eat good food, have a drink and most importantly, be able to have a conversation, without loud music, noisy crowds or weird entry requirements/restrictions/cover charges.<br/ <br/ Food/Drink: 5/5 – Our starters were fried squid, paneer, chicken wrapped in bacon and Mediterranean lamb kebab, which were very filling on their own with the drinks. We had Melontini, Cosmopolitan, and Jameson on the rocks. They do have a fine selection of wine, hard liquor and cocktails. Unlimited salted snacks are served too, but my advice would be to binge on that yet. They serve mainly continental food, in 2 styles – the traditional A la carte and the unique live table top cooking type. If you like to experience something different, go for the second option, which is actually a 3 course full meal. They have hotpot cooking and on the rock (hot limestone) cooking, with an option of having unlimited meat. We tried the On the rock style with grilled chicken. They serve the raw meat and you can cook it to your liking on the table, oil free. Sauces are served to flavor as per your desire.<br/ <br/ Ambience: 5/5 – It appears to be located in a lonely or secluded part of the Hotel, and you will not even notice it unless you look closely. Once you open the door there are 2 levels the lower level is mainly for hanging out, having a drink and some sides; and the upper level has a dining area. Either way, they do serve food down too, so it does not matter where you sit.<br/ Dim lit dining areas and soft music make it a good place for a date too.<br/ <br/ Service: 5/5 – Great service! The waiter would explain how their food options work and even assist you if you opt for the live table top cooking option. When the lamb kebab was not up to our liking, the Chef was kind enough to give us another serving prepared the way we wanted. That really made our evening!<br/ <br/ Food and beverages are expensive here. But of course, it is in a 5 star property. However, the overall dining experience you get here is worth it!
Excellent services received during my stay. Well done to Krishnan, Karthick, Surya and Vijay. Whenever i come i will get good wine recommendation here and i like the smoking room with cigar.
Wonderful experience dining at ‘ On the ROCKS’ at Crowne Plaza. I had attended the Salads class years ago when the restaurant was opened and I was happy to once again taste the salads which were crunchy and flavourful. The MESCLUN salad was superb and so was the Chicken Lemongrass soup and the broth was light and delicious .On the Rocks has three different concepts HOT POT, ON THE ROCKS and ON THE PLATE.The menu is interesting and I selected Jumbo Prawns which I was able to grill on the table directly. There is a choice of spring chicken and lamb loin as well.I was given a chef s cap and apron and I enjoyed grilling and it’s accompanied by a choice of rubs and sauces.I chose Mediterranean herbs and chilli plum sauce .My kids enjoyed the Tortellini pasta with water chestnuts as well. However what deserves a special mention is the FOCACCIA pull apart bread and truly it’s the best I have had and the guests are given a pod of roasted garlic dripping with olive oil which we can slather liberally on the bread. The desserts include lip smacking ice creams and the pastry chef Chef Karthik s Chocolate delicious is too delicious sans gelatine and a lovely cocoa crumb topping .Kudos to the Executive Chef Deva Kumar and Chef Vignesh of ‘On the Rocks’ and Mr Anand Krishnan for making it a unique dining experience.God Bless
