Mi Xun Tea House - Chengdu

As other reviewers have mentioned, the prices are quite high for China. On my first visit, I opted for the Prix Fixe menu for one person, which, along with a pot of black tea (88RMB), came to nearly 300RMB. The menu also had a Prix Fixe option for two people, but since I was on vacation and the meal consisted of several courses, I decided to go with the solo option. One of the dishes included what seemed to be substantial pieces of black truffles, and the ingredients overall were of excellent quality. On my second visit, I wasn't very hungry, so I just ordered dumplings a la carte. For 32RMB, I received two large and delicious dumplings, which may seem pricey in China but were clearly made with gourmet ingredients. One of the dumplings also featured black truffles, adding to the luxurious experience. While this restaurant may not be the best choice for a quick and inexpensive meal, if you're looking to enjoy a leisurely and well-prepared dining experience with plenty of time to savor multiple pots of tea in a beautiful and relaxing setting, I would definitely recommend it.

The food was just average, but nicely presented in a lovely atmosphere. I tried the Prix fixe menu, and the Dandan noodles as the main course were reminiscent of simple street food. It didn't quite justify the price, but overall it was not bad.

They're in an outside shopping plaza.They have English menus that note which items have dairy and egg. Some English spoken and they're super nice. This is not as formal of a tea house as Wistaria in Taipei, but it's pretty similar. Don't really on this place for full meals. It's snack food appropriate for tea.

So I have been there twice during my stay in chengdu, as it relatiw close to the chunxi road metro and where I stay. it is in the ground within a huge shopping center (taikoo li,) so maybe not the most interesting location, depending on what it in. that said the restaurant is at an seemingly less negotiated end of the mall and the ambiente and decor of the restaurant are beautiful. as other reviews mentioned, for china it is quite expensive. I ordered the prix fixe menu for 1 at my first visit; the, plus a pot black tee (88RMB) was close to 300rmb. (they also had a prix fixe option for 2 but, I am on vacation and there were several courses. one of the hot dishes has, which tasted like quite large pieces of black truffle. the ingredients were really high quality and everything seemed thoughtful. for the second time I was not so hungry, so I just ordered a la carte. for 32rmb they get two larger damped dumplings that may appear quite extravagant in china. but when eating a order of every kind it was quite clear that they were gourmet quality. one of them used black truffles. in the usa I would assume to pay at least so much. 4 dumplings were enough for a light dinner. not a great option for a fast, cheap meal, but if you have a cool, thoughtful prepared meal with plenty of time to enjoy several pots tee in a beautiful and relaxing environment, I recommend definitiw.
