Thyme - Chelmsford

The menu at this Premier Inn restaurant is surprisingly good for a budget hotel. It offers a decent variety of options. I recommend going for the meal deal, as the curry and gammon were exceptionally tasty. The dishes were served piping hot and there was minimal wait time.

I had an early dinner at the restaurant's opening. I waited for about minutes before the server realized I was dining alone and not waiting for someone else. She was very apologetic and my order was promptly delivered. I had the BBQ chicken bacon with salad and chips, which were delicious. For dessert, I had strawberry frozen yogurt. The breakfast the next morning was also enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and there was a good selection of both continental and cooked breakfast items. I opted for the combined meal deal, which I found to be a good value.

I pre-booked a meal deal before my visit to the restaurant. However, upon arrival, I was informed that several items were unavailable from the menu as they were awaiting a delivery the next day. This included steaks, meat, and gammon, and there were no apologies offered. It was disappointing, but after speaking with customer support, they reimbursed the cost of the dinner portion of my deal. So, all in all, a positive resolution to the situation.

Foreseeable one size fits everything here, but that is what they expect when they stay in the premier inn. menu so predictable that they have nominated without review and were right.? but let us be fair, it is what it is and eating was good...cooked presented and ok for a few nights. personal friendly helpful and menu cheap as chips!

My husband and I were staying in the Premier Inn and decided to eat something in the Thyme Restaurant late one evening. We chose a sharing starter, and it was brought to our table pretty quickly. It was very tasty and we enjoyed it. The...waitress was polite and the atmosphere in the restaurant was good. I think we were the only diners as it was late, so I cannot say what the service is like when the restaurant is busy. We will return soon.
