Song's Buffet - Chelmsford

The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant and well-decorated. However, we were seated at a table for 4 despite being a party of 5, making it feel cramped. Fortunately, another staff member provided an extra chair. The food variety was disappointing, with some options missing like seaweed calamari. Many dishes were soggy, especially the chips. The prawn toast was overly oily and hard, while the rainbow squid tasted fishy. Even the jelly dessert tasted more like water than fruit. Plates piled up quickly and were not cleared until the end of our meal, making us uncomfortable. It seemed like the staff were more focused on closing up the restaurant rather than attending to guests still dining. Sadly, the quality of the food has decreased since the restaurant first opened, and I would prefer to order Chinese takeout at home next time.

My partner and here enjoy eating here….. but today was a very disappointment, most of the food was cold and the cakes were still frozen, the only thing that was piping hot was the omelette…..

We were recommended to try Song in Chelmsford by others, but unfortunately, our experience was below average. We arrived at 2:50pm for the late afternoon/evening sitting and were greeted by dirty stairs and a broken disabled lift. The greeter informed us that despite our 3pm booking, we were expected to leave by 5pm. We found it off-putting to pay before being seated, and the drinks menu only included diet options for bottomless drinks. The coke I ordered was served in a warm glass, and the food was disappointing - congealed, cold, and clearly not prepared on site. The apple crumble custard was also served cold. Overall, for the price we paid, the quality of the food should have been much better. We won't be returning, and I hope they take feedback into consideration instead of just offering a generic apology.

Always have a fab time, love going on a Sunday, always a great varied choice, the food turned over quickly when running low , staff are very pleasant and helpful, also the lovely bartender, massive shoutout to him, always polite and makes a lush rum and coke , also cocktails, love it Obviously lunch time menu is half the price , but still plenty of choice , but I prefer evening as the fresh food cook is also available, but still plenty to choose from

Been there lots of times, never had bad food, always plenty to pick from always hot and great service. So good we are going on Wednesday evening, table booked for 9 people.
