China Kitchen - Chelmsford

Never again, gave them the benefit of the doubt over a previous late delivery. No change, ordered at 6.11pm arrived 8.38pm. Food cold, had to reheat in microwave and throw chips away. Each time I phoned for update told it was out for delivery before I had even given them an address. No apology for delay

The place is a joke. Like all the other recent reviews. Ordered, told 45-60 minutes to pick up. Arrived at 60 minutes, told it would be a few minutes. 15 minutes later I asked where it was. The front desk staff went and asked in the kitchen, clearly told it wasn't ready so then came back out the front and just ignored me and carried on working! Another 20 minutes later finally got the food. Got home and it had no taste/bland.

Appauling, I called and firstly asked for a price of delivery which I was told was £3.I then placed my order over the phone for 3 items. I made a mistake by not telling them I wanted to pay by card which made me call back. Another person answered which I immediatley asked how much the delivery was as my order seemed much higher in price than I usually paid. She said delivery is £1. Scammers.

This used to be our favourite take away. Last week 2 hr wait for food , this week over an hour and a half. When I phoned to see if they had forgotten my order it was absolute bedlam on the phone, when I eventually got through. The order was not what I had chosen and I was overcharged by £10 . What a shambles, judging by the reviews on Trip Advisor the new owners need to get their act together. I will never use China Kitchen again.

First time visit to this restaurant and arrived on time for our 7pm booking on a Saturday evening. We could just about get in the door due to the queue of take away customers and were not acknowledged by any member of staff. I eventually managed to get the attention of a waitress advising of my booking and was told that my table was not yet available. We were seated about 15 minutes later on a table that in our opinion was not big enough for 4 people this was also obvious when the main course was served and we were holding dishes as there was no space on the table and our selection was not excessive) We ordered aromatic duck to start and this took an hour to arrive at our table. When the main courses arrived, the serving dishes to the majority of the food and serving spoons were stone cold resulting in the food getting cold very quickly. The food also came out with lengthy time delays between serving and mirrors comments by others about poor management and lack of training of teenage waiting staff. It is very clear that this restaurant prioritises take aways over seated customers. I made my comments known when I paid the bill and will never return to this restaurant.
