Heirloom At The Athenaeum - Chautauqua

We decided to go without eating, so I don't want to rate any category. the restaurant offers a fixed price menu that changes every day, and we have chosen it for the menu at night. After sitting, we were told that they only offer a buffet of filled cauliflower, spicy meatballs, some kind of fish and Italian high-time soup. we had very different expectations and no one in our party wanted everything they offered. the waitress was not rude, but she said it was the end of the season. that would be good, but make the information available to the girls so that they can plan accordingly. she didn't apologize for the confusion, nor did she do the host when we told her we gave up our table. it was disappointing and I didn't feel like the employees set the ton I would expect in a nicer restaurant.

Since the hotel/restaurant has impeded itself at the end of the season of departure from college staff, the food quality was sufficient but extremely overpriced. the ambiente is wonderful I assume that the service is better, but tonight I had to track our server at two different locations aktiw to get wein dinner and then our deck before the trip to a show.

Great view of the lake of veranda where we sat. at the time only a buffet service was available. Eating was excellent. the coconut cream pie is highly recommended.

Buffet was mostly empty. Food not hot. Poor service.

We were not advised ahead of time that this night was a buffet only as happened in the past. While the food was tasty, some of what is normally served warm was cold. The service was good but the staff seemed short-handed. The ambience was excellent thanks to the beautiful weather.
