Bidrage med feedbackThe food at this restaurant is delicious and one of the most authentic I have ever tried. The Belacan fried rice was especially tasty, with just the right amount of heat, belacan, and a charred smoky flavor. The tofu dish was also good, not too salty. The Wat tan hor was authentic with a generous amount of ingredients, unlike some other places where they serve noodles with just a few pieces of carrots. It's worth noting that they only accept cash as a form of payment.
We tried the curry chee cheong fun, which was delicious but the portion was small. I wish they would provide more chee cheong fun. The laksa yong tau fu was also tasty, with an average portion size, but at $15.90 it was pricey. The Wat Tan Hor dish we ordered was my favorite, receiving a rating of 8/10. Overall, the food at this restaurant is authentic and I will definitely return whenever I am craving yong tau foo.
Oh Rasa Sayang... What I love about Chatswood Asian restaurants is the level of authenticity that spreads evenly across all lines of cuisine, unlike China Town or Little Korea or Little Italy that only serves one type of cuisine. So among my favourites in Chatswood that resembles its origin the best, Chef Rasa Sayang stands out as THE Malaysian place that never disappoints. Ask a Malaysian friend living in Sydney and chances are he/she has either heard of this place, or comes every weekend. Small restaurant with an ambitious menu with nothing flashy. The owner not only does everything right, but also goes the extra step to ensure your takeaway sizes are exactly the same as eat-in. When each time my takeaway orders are stuffed with two containers per dish, I feel showered with kindness and love. You know what I'm talking about, and you know that's a trust-worthy Asian restaurant when they do that.
This restaurant serves authentic Malaysian cuisine, which is my favorite traditional Malaysian food in Sydney. Some of my favorites are the Nasi lemak with chicken curry, char Kway Teo, wat tan hor, and mee goreng. Delicious!
Oh my... this is the best Malaysian food around town. Forget Mamak. Chef Rasa Sayang has got your Malaysian food carvings sorted. I love the Nasi Lemak, served with creamy chicken curry, pappadam, deep fried egg and delicious coconut rice. Anchovies, nuts and sambal on the side. The Mee Goreng is really spicy but yummm (if you can stomach spicy food). I'm loving the prawns and tofu, they go so well with this dish. You can always request for the less amount of chilli used. Chef Rasa Sayang's number one dish, Wat Tan Hor, a soupy noodle kind of dish with eggs and vegetable. Doesn't sound too appetising but it's a Chinese Malaysian comfort food and I love it! Can't wait to return again to try the other dishes... yummmmm
