Tavern & Grocery - Charlottesville

Very unprofessional staff. We came in and waited for 5 minutes for the host to show up, and another 5 minutes for them to ?set up our water glasses.? Our server while coming to the two tables on either side of ours 5 times, looked at me in the eyes, and still did not talk to us until the 6th time they came over and me staring at them while they made another eye contact with me. They didn?t have a notepad to take our order and had to ask us to repeat the 3 items we ordered. Weasked them for tea and they said they would bring over a selection for us and never did for the 45 minutes of us sitting there. Our glasses were unfilled for 20 minutes after they were empty. And after all this wait time, the server cameback and told us ?something happened in the kitchen and they lost our ticket.? It?s honestly unbelievable at a place of this price point. We ended up leaving the restaurant after this. And apparently between the 5 minutes when we told themour order for a second time, and when we told them we were leaving, the order was still not being placed at the kitchen. Also, the photo is the cushion seat at which we were seated. What restaurant set up their tables in such a way thattheir customers had to sit like this??? It was not unprofessionalism it?s literally so uncomfortable that I couldn?t sit on top of it.

Beautiful hostess, cozy and thoughtful ambiente, delicious food, lukewarm service, which has left us unsure when we return.

Amazing silvester meal! inexpensive but definitiw tasty, although beaten she ran out of the lobster bisque. only more real decoy was the staff that rushed us out of the door. if they do not want people there after a certain time, they do not take 9:45 clock reservations. but everyone was friendly, independent of it, and their team in the kitchen just remains one of the best in charlottesville.

Beautiful place to dinen and we are happy to try this restaurant again. silvester was not the best experience, but we believe that they did the best they had given to the employees in the last minute. the wine selection was great and also the food presentation attraktiw. eating was delicious, but not something I would have chosen had the complete menu available.

We went to brunch on Sunday. the food was good and timely and everyone was satisfied with their escapes. However, the service for the first 20 minutes was not existent. 3 people standing behind the bar and nobody came to our table to ask us about drinks for 10 minutes. After we ordered drinks, it took 15 minutes to get a mimosa. again 3 people talking behind the bar. more attentiveness could have made this experience much more enjoyable.
