Bidrage med feedbackI will NEVER patronize this restaurant again! We arrived at their opening time; door was locked. Owner came out appropriately 15 minutes later and said he had just bought the restaurant 2 weeks prior. Clearly, he has no idea how to run a restaurant or cook food, particularly seafood. There were 7 in our party, including one 7 year-old. We sat outside. For the next hour and a half, the owner and one server, who said she was the bartender, ran around not knowing what on earth they were doing. There was one other table outside with 3 ladies who arrived after us. Luckily for the owner and single server, they ordered salads. Being from Maryland, and considering this restaurant advertises Maryland seafood and uses the Tilghman Island lighthouse as its logo, I had some questions for our server/ bartender. She could not answer a single question. It would have been comical except that I used to work as the manager of a large, high-end restaurant on Maryland 's Eastern Shore, where all staff were expertly trained in customer service and appropriate food delivery. They knew the menu and could answer all questions. The highest standards were the norm. After waiting 90 minutes for our food, and no communication with us during that time, we found it to be completely inedible. My crab-cake not only looked as if it had been steamed but also tasted even worse. I was raised on Chesapeake Bay seafood, and I know bad crab meat when I taste it. This cake was fishy and beyond even choking down! The rest of my party 's food was no better. We sent the food back. My daughter walked inside and said she would pay for the food we had eaten (mozzarella sticks for the 7 year old and our drinks (iced tea . The owner became maniacally rude and belligerent, shouting that he had cooked all that food and we were going to pay for it whether we ate it or not! He was fortunate it was my daughter and not me because I would have walked right then and there, but she paid the full bill and we left to go to another, and familiar, restaurant where we have always had great food and service. Chesapeake House will not, and should not, remain in business. Do yourselves a favor and avoid it like the plague, which is what I may have contracted if I had eaten that rotten crab meat; at the very least, I would have suffered food poisoning. (HAD to select a star, but in reality, Chesapeake House doesn 't even rate a one!
Clearly one of the WORST restaurants in the country,! Claims to have Maryland seafood I am from Maryland. Far from MD quality! The waitstaff was the worst; the owner was even worse. I ordered a crab cake; it was fishy and inedible even after waiting an hour and a half for our food! The owner was rude and belligerent. The owner did not an even offer a discount on the bill for food we could not eat. The owner has no idea how to run a restaurant and staff is untrained!
We went to Chesapeake house for the first and last time last Friday night. I was not impressed by the Ahi Tuna. Over priced for the quality of the meal. My side was microwaved vegetables. My husband had a burger and fries. The fries were under cooked and the burger was a frozen patty. We spent more than we normally do on a Friday night out and I didn't have any cocktails. Very disappointed and will not be going back. I gave it one star ONLY because it would not let me post with out a rating.
A large party yesterday. Place was packed. Wait staff was very efficient trying to satisfy all tables. Enjoyed the crab cakes. Hope this place makes it. Can't wait to try some of the other menu items. Friends had the hot wings. Very meaty good casual dining.
Sadly, our experience at this restaurant was not good. They are grossly understaffed, and the only bartender in the adjacent room was tasked with waiting on our table. Initially we were excited to find my husband's favorite wine, KJ Merlot, at this place, but it took a long time to get it to the table as our server had higher priorities. Hubby ordered fried fish and when it was served by a food runner, the outside breading was ridiculously dark. Hubby said the fish was overcooked, but okay; however, the french fries were undercooked. I ordered the chicken breast topped with crab dip. I got a small taste from my fork and the flavor was good. Unfortunately, I had to saw with my knife to try and get through the chicken. It was rubbery as if cooked in a microwave and was not edible. I sent it back to the kitchen. I was not interested in trying anything else at this point and just waited for hubby to finish eating. Wish I remembered to snap a picture. I don't recommend this restaurant there are plenty of good places around, and we are trying as many as we can.
