Chips are outstanding, as were the onion rings, fried chicken wings were too oily and wouldn't get them again. The service seems to have some teething problems with the business only been open for a short time, there was a need for another staff member and it needs to be more clearly defined as to weather its table service or weather you place order at the till. If you enjoy a good American style burger, this place is definitely worth trying.
I had the Aussie burger so I could try how their beef patties are.. the heart and soul of a burger. It wasn't a bad burger but it just reminded me of a burger from a local take away with the stock standard fillings, the only thing different is that it's served on a milk bun..I also had chips which are a big serve and probably good to share but these also reminded me of a local takeaway as they were overly greasy. They probably could serve them with a bit more of their seasoning... needed more saltiness to it though.
It's a big call because there are a lot of good burger bars in Newcastle but mister p's is pretty damn good! And I love my burgers and am not easily impressed enough to write a review. Stoked I don't have to go into Newcastle cbd to get it too. I'm slowly working my way through the menu and each one has exceeded expectations. Thanks guys! Always look forward to the next one.
Had the pleasure of visiting Mister P's with a friend and had a great burger wings and chips,i heard about it on the Newy grapevine and it did not disapoint. In terms of what I ate, the wings were crispy and you could tell they were cooked freshly. They came with the option of a number of different sauces, we chose Cayenne BBQ which was spicy and tangy without being overbearing. The chips were also very fresh, thick and really quality pieces of potato, just the right amount of salt and went well with the wing sauce. The main event though, The Burg. I got the BBQ Burger. It held together well, tasty meat, some salad, with a really nice BBQ sauce and Mayo combo that gave plenty of flavour without turning the bun to mush. There were size options with the patty and I opted for the larger one. It wasn't too big but will leave you very satisfied. In terms of other things, the service was very friendly, the waitress made some recommendations around sharing entrees which was much appreciated and the food came out quickly despite them having a decent sized crowd at other tables.Only thing I would like is a few more beer choices but I went for the food and it did not let me down. There were plenty of other interesting looking American style dishes on the menu so I'm looking forward to going back.If you like a good Burg or some fresh wings, you should check this place out.
I work down the road from Mister P's and had been anticipating it's opening for months. Upon hearing glowing reviews from its first week of operation, I headed there as part of a group function where 20 of us filled our bellies with delicious burgers and hand cut fries. I liked it so much, I took my family there for a lunchtime feast the day after.FOOD: 9/10On my first visit I sampled the spicy 'Misiz P's' burger which electrified my taste-buds and had me licking my lips in delight. It had the perfect amount of heat, without being overpowering. The flavours were insane and everything tasted fresh. The moist patty remained firm and didn't turn into mush - always a good sign! On my second visit, I gave the 'Crispy Fried Chicken' burger a go. This burg is a great example of how to really make a few simple ingredients work. I'm getting sick of crazy burgers with 8 ingredients... where flavours are competing for each other and everything slops out of the sides. This basic burger kills it with some of the best chicken you'll ever find in Newie, crispy lettuce
