Excellent food and service!!! Old bay wings are amazing!!!!
SO and I stopped in for a midweek dinner. Was absolutely 100 unimpressed. It was one of those places that wasn't great, wasn't horrible, I would eat at again, but sure wouldn't put on my list of places I need to rush back to. Let's start with the theme and the layout. The Cowboy, southern BBQ, Texas Roadhouse ambiance seems like it's trying a bit too hard, but I didn't get the full experience. It was a Thursday and there were only a few dinners in the very large space. Maybe on a weekend with more customers, loud music, and a cowboy hat or two might be different. As for my server, whose name I forgot but that only seems fair, all I can say is don't give up on your dream to to be something other than a server in a make believe Texas Roadhouse. We ordered two drinks, one starter, and two entrees. She informed us that while she had a great memory maybe she should write down the order. She did, and then promptly forgot to bring out the starter of guacamole because she forgot to write it down. She did make a good recovery by getting the rest of the order correct. On to the food. You would think a place that touts it's BBQ would have great ribs. You would be wrong. They are wet style with a very heavy sauce that tastes primarily of smoke. Nothing horrible or offensive, just not great. My tater tots were a bit over cooked, and my coleslaw was ok but nothing to get excited about. My SO's bourbon glazed pork chops were also acceptable, but a bit over salted. It seems that the kitchen has fallen into the trap of many other restaurants in this area; don't worry about being great, just don't be bad. My advice is, if you want really good food this probably isn't the place. If you want to find a place where it's OK to get loud with a group of friends, or just sit at the large bar watching one or more of the large TVs, this might be your place. Oh, BTW, the bathrooms were clean.
Worst meal and restaurant experience ever! We drove 35 min with a party of 7 to enjoy a nice meal and celebrate Mother's Day. The website states that the restaurant is open until 9 on Sundays. We showed up at 5:30 and they said they are closing at 6? Came in with a party of seven yesterday. We asked if they can take us and they greeted us with open arms. From there it all went down hill. Took our drink order and waited 35 min for an ice tea. The meals each came out at different times, so we can watch the other one eat as we sat there. After 20 min one of the parties canceled their order because they were so angry at waiting. They were told it would be comped, which turned out to be a lie. They just went hungry. Waited for 20 min to ask for condiments, which some where given after three attempts. My BBQ sauce request was literally ignored. When finally talking to a manager all he did was argue with me and tell me I'm lying. Never have my group and myself been treated like this. The craziness is there was a group of people who came in after us and got everything they requested. Stay away from this nightmare. Mother's Day was ruined.
Atmosphere: The atmosphere is actually very confusing. Looks like a cowboy themed restaurant, even named Cowboy Food and Drink but for some reason, the only music playing was rap music with the curse words muted out or heavy alternative music. My fiancé and I were so confused. You'd think you'd hear some country music or some blues funk. But nope. Drake and lil Wayne it was. The inside was clean though and looked homey. Our waitress was nice enough, but it was so dead that she did get a little caught up chatting with her co workers that I had to seek her out to get the bill. Food: let me first say that this place would probably do a lot better if they had build your own bbq platters with each meat having a portion price. The ONLY platter they have is brisket, turkey, and bbq pulled pork. I hate turkey. So I asked if we could substitute and she said it would be an 8 dollar up charge to do that even though what I wanted to substitute it with was the same price as the turkey. So I ended up getting the brisket. It was good and the bbq was good but I would have loved to try different things as well but couldn't. My fiancé said the bomb burger was absolutely delicious! The cornbread was also amazing as well. So dense and heavy little dry but I think all cornbread is a little dry but just amazing flavor. If they had better platter options, we would return but we will probably find our bbq elsewhere.
