Bidrage med feedbackAfter 7 weeks in Italy our last night was spent at La Strada. We had the most incredible meal! There was a beef dish, stufato plunge e arancia, which was very tender slow cooked beef with what tasted like a sauce of prunes and oranges. It was fabulous. We had a dessert of pistachio similar to gelato (but it didn't melt) that was on a thin chocolate crust with chocolate drizzled on it. Pistachio pudding?? And it wasn't fake or pistachio flavored... It was made with pistachios. The owner and servers were delightful as were the other guests and the decor was lovely.
It was Sunday night, the clerk at our hotel recommend another restaurant near by, but it ended being close. After driving around a bit my wife saw the 1950's American Dinner...which I refuse to stop. Since we live in America...I wanted real Tuscan food. My wife had the gnocchi with mushrooms and shrimp, which was excellent. I had steak and mushrooms on a bed of lettuce. it was pretty good. I guess Mushrooms are in season.
