Tour guide was very interesting. Nice young lady. Very helpful getting me into the bar where Face Is On The Floor. She found safe entrance as I can't step too well without a railing. This is THE ONLY PLACE to eat in Central City, Colorado. My wife and I had a wonderful Lunch Tuesday July 17th at this fun exciting place. The staff from manager Keith who met us as we were at front desk, to OUTSTANDING BARTENDER ROBERT, to my waiter Bryan, all were sharp, quick to our every demand, and very professional. If you want an exciting experience I suggest you try Face Bar in Central City. We had lovely wine cocktails to start. My wife had Salmon Salad with side order of Meatballs. I had a cobb salad which was great. I food was very good and fresh. In my opinion this is best restaurant in Black Hawk, Idaho Springs, and Central City. In the historic Teller House you sense a deep experience of being in a part of Colorado Gold country History. sincerely, Ed Altman Jr.

Read about the face bar on atlas obscura and drove to central city specifically to check it out and have a beer. Unfortunately it is only open for tours, and today wasn 't the day. :

Granted, there were no casinos 25 years ago (that I remember) here, but there was just one lonely man sitting at the bar when we visited this month. Perhaps it's busier during Opera season. Anyway, the face is still there, and you need to google for the story. It's protected under glass, and the building and interior are gorgeous! Worth a stop if you're in Central City.
