Delicious, authentic street tacos and for a great price!

The restaurant, correctly identified as The Plaza on Google Maps, offers authentic Mexican cuisine. We visited a few years ago and recently returned, not disappointed by the diverse protein options such as asada, carnitas, pollo, chicharrones, barbacoa, pastor, cabeza, lengua, and tripa. Although the service was a bit slow due to a large family celebration, we were not in a rush. We enjoyed an asada burrito, two pastor tacos, a side of rice and beans, and complimentary chips with red and green salsa. We will definitely be returning!

I used to work at this restaurant in the 90s when it was in its original location on Oltorf. The marinated chicken breast tacos and tortilla soup were always my favorite dishes. They are just as delicious now as they were 28 years ago! The service can be a bit slow at times. Finding parking on Congress can be challenging, so I recommend going around 2 o'clock when you can park directly in their small lot.
