Osteria Degli Artisti - CELANO

Found it by chance a little characteristic osteria in the narrow streets of Celano. One would think you were in a movie. This place has elements of surprises from the menu to musicians that dine there. Not much on the menu if at all. Traditional local food that is delicious. Think of visiting good friends and late at night you never know someone with a guitar will turn up and the singing will begin. As the name suggests osteria of the artists!

Gianni, il proprietario e sua moglie, sono due persone fantastiche con un'ottima cucina e un ambiente familiare. Sicuramente un'esperienza da ripetere! Se passate da Celano, fermatevi da loro.

We stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant just behind the castle through one of the alleys. A popular place for musicians and people who enjoy casual home style food. We shared a simple antipasto as well as a pasta and then for the main, lamb and potatoes in the oven. Food is served straight from the pan at your table which was fantastic. The outdoor area is nice however we sat upstairs in the non smoking area which was a welcome relief. The upstairs room is lined with guitars and musical memorabilia. The food servings were on the smaller side for the overall cost of €40 including house wine for 2 people however we would recommend this place for sure.
