Bidrage med feedbackThis place is cute and has a nice vibe. Decor is cool and there are plenty of seating options: tables of different sizes, armchairs by the fireplace, and the like. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Menu is typical of a coffee shop/cafe: sandwiches, salads, soups, a pick two option, and plenty of baked goods. Prices are pretty much the going rate. I chose a table that shared a wall with the bathrooms, which was my mistake let this be a warning to those who don't wish to listen in on others' flushes : Most of the food we tried was okay but unremarkable. Minestrone had plenty of vegetables, and that shiny quality that reminds me of canned soup; perhaps it's house made but has lots of cornstarch holding it together? A salad was topped with cranberries, pecans, apple slices, and Mandarin oranges. The apple slices looked perfect but tasted like lemons and mildew like they'd been soaked in lemon juice or other acid to keep them from browning, but went bad nevertheless. The combo came with a white roll; no choices were offered. Coffee was bitter and burnt tasting.
Located on Boyson Road by Riley's, Butcher Block, and Gumption is this little cafe. I had the chai tea latte which was made with loose leaf tea (yay! No concentrate or powder here! honey, brown sugar, and milk of choice. It was the perfect ratio of spice to sweetness (I asked for less brown sugar . The tea however was like warm... I had to microwave it (yes there is a microwave on the counter with condiments... must happen frequently? We day at a booth (the seats are scratched and slightly torn open and the decor could use some updating. We did not order food, however not sure I would as a a sandwich is close to $9! His doesn't even include the coffee you buy! Yikes! I probably will only ever get coffee to go the next time. The environment just is not that cozy.
Interesting concept on drip coffee they don't have a house drip ready to go, rather all of their beans are available via pour over. While not the quickest way to grab and go, I enjoyed the custom pour over device they had made for the shop once your coffee was dripping, it's up to you to grab it when it's done. Oh, and keep your eye on it as it'll keep dripping and overflow. ; Many beans to choose from I went with the house roast which was medium bodied, slightly nutty, and just the right boost of caffeine for the morning.
This place is great! The owners are as friendly as they come. The coffee was fresh, delicious, and came in a nice big mug. The décor was immediately inviting. I loved the fireplace! My wife and I also had breakfast here. The breakfast sandwich and burrito come with your choice of 4 different meats. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage and was satisfied. The salsa was flavorful and paired superbly with my meal. The only downside is that I do not live in the area, otherwise I would be back every day!
I 'm a huge fan of Java creek! The food is great, and the coffee is good. The space is great for studying or getting work done. I do have one complaint. I have been in on several occasions and each time the female owner barks or speaks rudely to her employees. Today across the dinning are she yell at an employee to get off her clock. I just hope that she values her team members because they do a great job, and I 'd hate to see the place burn through even more employees.
