Pepe Nero. - Catania

Very cold atmosphere. Plenty of waiters, but only a couple could take our order so we had to wait a bit. The food we ordered was bland and expensive (didn 't taste much), the meat was really dry, and the sauce/gravy was as thin as water. We left almost the whole plate.

Great selection on the menu. Seafood is excellent. Very popular with the locals. Always a good sign.

The first time we went here we ate sushi, the food was good and the staff was okay (1 person was nice). We decided to go back which was a big mistake. We wanted to eat pizza this time and the food was really average for the price (20 EU per pizza). The staff this time did not speak english and were quite rude. At the end we received the bill and it really shocked us. We do spend some money on food and are totally okay with that. However, there was ‘spina bion media’ for 6 eu which translated to some kind of documents. And they charged ‘coperto’ for 7 eu these are all the things that come along with eating out like your fork knife and napkin. That is just 13 euros going up in smoke. We have the feeling they charged us this just because we are non italian speaking tourist. 13 euros may not seem like a lot but it wasn’t nice.

Recentemente, sono stato in questo posto più volte, ambiente accogliente, team gentile, cibo di ottima qualità, cliente selezionato, ma soprattutto pulito!
