Lognina - Catania

Lovely view on the tables outside of Etna and the harbour. Our waiters were both very patient and helpful with our broken italian and offered lovely recommendations for food. We had a gorgeous five fish starter and for desert we were offered amaro desert wine which was really lovely and smokey to smell but sweet to taste. Highly recommend, if a little on the expensive side but worth it as food was all fresh.

Excellent fresh fish and new, creative cuisine. Good Wine which is very important with such good food. We appreciated the way the Chef Nico and his team take care of their customers. We ate several times during our stay in Catania and were always satisfied and pleased. I never tasted such fresh and excellent fish. All the best for all the Lognina Team! Excellent fresh fine and sophisticated seafood , friendly service personnel special greetings for Vito and Mateo . I recommend asking for the tasting menu. You will get a great set you can't even imagine how good will be. There is one minor minus they don't have a coffee machine which is incomprehensible in Italy :

Horrible experience. Rude owner and bad service make this well positioned restaurant a place to avoid. The menu is literally a single table that needs to be shared amongst the different tables. we waited 40 mins just to be allowed to see the menu. I attach a picture for reference. apart the overpriced items for the location, the waiters did not know what was inside any dish so they had to go inside to ask the owner. The general confusion in the organisation made us wait for over 2 hours just to get a starter and the pasta. Unfortunately, the wrong dish arrived at the table, not once but twice and bringing an item that was of the menu. Instead of apologising for the mistake, the owner started to argue with us and I had to show the waiter their own menu taken in picture with my phone. Result: an horrible afternoon that doesn't justify any overpriced (40 euros for a starter and a pasta) mediocre food served in a so called restaurant. Worse experience in years of dining.
